According to the new organisation of the BWB, Dr. Schmoltzi is acting as Project Director “Short-Range Air Defence” and as German “Research and Technology Adviser” for the German/French R&T Institute “ISL”.
Formerly Dr. Schmoltzi served as Director BWB-WF IV, being responsible for Technology and Procurement in the field of weapons and ammunition.
At the Federal Ministry of Defence (BMVg) he was mainly tasked with activities in the field of the artillery. His responsibilities included the self propelled howitzer 155 mm, “PzH 2000” and the smart ammunition “SMArt”. In the second place he served as R&T Coordinator in the field of the different Research Institutes.
